  • Zetafax client update for Windows 8.1

Information for Zetafax customers using Windows 8 or Windows Server 2012

We are pleased to announce that the Windows Client Update for Zetafax 2012 is now available for download. This adds support for Windows 8.1 and Windows Server 2012 R2 to the Zetafax Client applications, including the Zetafax Printer.

Windows 8.1 and Windows Server 2012 R2 are due for general release from 17th October. Windows 8.1 may be installed automatically on some computers via the Windows Update service, so it is important for Zetafax system administrators to act before the release date to ensure their systems are compatible with Windows 8.1.

Existing Zetafax 2012 systems will not work correctly with the new platforms. A user who upgrades their computer to Windows 8.1 without this update will experience issues including a watermark on faxes which are sent using the Zetafax Printer.

We advise all customers with Zetafax 2012 to install the Windows Client Update for Zetafax 2012 on their Zetafax Server now, to avoid difficulties if client computers are upgraded to Windows 8.1 in future. The update can be downloaded from www.equisys.com/updates, kindly contact us for the login credentials.

Customers with older Zetafax systems should upgrade to Zetafax 2012 before installing this update. The Zetafax 2012 upgrade is available without charge for customers with a current Software Assurance contract, by contacting us on the below mentioned contact details.

Further details about the release can be found in the following technical note:
ZTN1970-INFO: What’s new in the Zetafax 2012 Windows Client Update

The Zetafax Server does not currently support Windows 8.1 or Windows Server 2012 R2. We will be releasing a full update for the Zetafax Server to support the new Windows versions within 60 days of general release.

Please contact our support for further details of the release if required.

A journey that started somewhere in 1997 took concrete shape in 1998. Since then we have had a fair share of ups, downs, bouquets and brickbats as usual. But we went on with unflinching faith in our own abilities. Thanks to each and every team member for believing in themselves and in team work, that we are now 15 years old.

My son was born on April 1 , 2007 and I joined Rincon in May the same year. This makes it very easy for me to calculate how long I have been associated with Rincon. In the last 6 years, I always felt comfortable and happy working here even though there is no great campus, no fancy cabins or anything to boast about. I think Rincon’s success can be attributed to its culture. Here all team members and their families are considered as a big joint family which somehow make all happy, productive  and gives a feeling of self belonging. Freedom is given to the entire team to work in their own way without putting controls which is seldom misused.  Started as a company selling only fax solutions, Rincon now handles various solution in the area of document management, HR, recruitment, employee background verification, document security, global calling cards and still looking for new niche solutions to be added into the product kitty. In the company you could see a wide range of people with different interest like birding, cycling , Yoga, tattoo, cooking ,animal (especially pigeon, crow and dog), animated discussions on betting and match fixing, cricket, music, movies…. Even though the combination looks weird and wacky, all somehow gel well as a family unit. In short. a fun loving unit which loves to dine, have fun all the time and do business and work in between. Another common goal of the team is to make the world a better place for the coming generations like believing  in the concept of go green and doing their own bit to protest against child abuse, child labour, wastage of natural resources etc.

I started my journey with this in mind on March 5, 2007 and continue to sail sucessfully with the team in this 15 year young smooth sailing boat. As is with the sea, we have had ups and downs and have learnt that the harder the struggle, the more glorious the triumph. Seeing the evolution of Rincon with a bouquet of solutions, it feels good to learn, articulate, present and provide solutions to customers. Not to forget mentioning the support received from the team to balance between personal and professional lives. Thank you all having the faith in Rincon touch 15. Special thanks to Team Rincon, our customers, the OEMS and last but not the least Thank God.

  • Rincon supports Earth Hour 2013

EARTH_hourRincon has always believed in helping organisations go green through IT solutions. Even in our own offices, we switch off the lights and fans when not required, fix leaking taps, switch on the water cooler only when required, use the printer only if absolutely necessary, use the other side of papers and recycle envelopes. These small things are not only cost effective but more importantly help us contribute to the environment. In keeping with that, Team Rincon is supporting Earth Hour this year on Saturday, March 23, 2013 from 8.30 pm to 9.30 pm.

What is Earth Hour? (Taken from the Earth Hour website)

Earth Hour is the largest movement for the planet in human history, spanning 7,000 cities, 152 countries with a digital reach of 200 million. Earth Hour is much, much more than a symbolic action of switching off lights for an hour; it’s a continuous movement driving actions, big and small, that are changing the world we live in.

There is no doubt about it: the world is facing some of the most critical environmental challenges in its history. That may make the journey to a sustainable future seem difficult to imagine, but it is far from impossible. Change this big needs you. It needs every one of us. Together our individual actions add up to make a difference collectively. In fact, change is already underway.

  • Who uses fax? We use e mail only…. is that so? Think again

How often has this been heard but when it comes to facts, you need a reality check. Think again:
If your organisation expects to send and receive more than a few faxes a day, then you need a solution. Some hard hitting questions for you to answer and you will realise what a fax server can do for your organisation.
    • Do you need to reduce Postage / Courier billing by sending and receiving few documents through fax?
    • Do any individuals / department(s) want to send / receive documents quickly and complete their work immediately?
    • Do you want your faxes to remain confidential?
    • Do you need to send faxes from and receive faxes on multiple multi function printers using a common fax line?
    • Do you have multiple users, platforms and operating systems using a common fax line?
    • Do you need central logging and archiving of all faxes?
    • Do you need incoming faxes to be handled with the ease and convenience?
    • Do you need to have remote employee submit faxes to the fax server, possibly by e-mail, ERP, CRM?
    • Do you need a fax system that is robust enough to handle multiple lines and thousands of faxes without crashing?
    • Do you need the same document faxed to many different recipients?
    • Do you need to do more productive things while a fax is being sent?
If your answer is yes to any of these questions, then we have the solution you are looking for. Contact sales@rincon.co.in or give us a call on 022 61461616 and we will put you on the express way to fax.
  • Please think of the environment, Go Green

Why would anyone be concerned about the environment right now? For starters, we still don’t know how Mother Nature is getting depleted. We have yet to realise that what goes around comes around so we will be hurt too. Please think of the environment. Go Green.

  • 14th Birthday Celebrations

As part of Rincon’s 14th Birthday celebrations, on June 23, 2012 we visited Little Sister of the Poor Home for the Aged. Located in one of the by-lanes of Mahakali Caves Road, Andheri, it was away from the hustle and bustle and there was peace and tranquillity. A sprawling, neat and clean complex beckoned us. The sister at the reception informed us that there were 150 inmates with 75 males and 75 females. They had an employee strength of 40 people comprising of 20 nuns, 4 cooks and 16 staff members. The cooks would come in at 6 am and prepare breakfast for the elderly inmates. Then there were 4 people on 12 hours shifts to take care of the immobilised and would undertake tasks like giving them a bath, feeding and taking them around in wheel chairs. The nuns stayed in the complex itself whereas the other staff members came to work from 8am to 5pm. They also had one nun trained to take care of the health of the inmates. The organisation is headquartered in France and presently have 14 such homes all across India mostly in South India with one in Jabalpur.

One of the sisters took us on a tour of the place. Apparently the inmates who were immobile would have lunch by 11.30 whereas the others would have at 12 noon. She showed us the dormitory where 6 inmates stayed together and they had their own cupboard with lock and key. Each dorm had 2 attached toilets and 2 bathrooms. There was a nice garden inside the building with different kinds of colourful flowers bordered on all 4 sides by corridors.

We reached the dining room for men just as they were finishing their lunch. They were extremely happy to see us and it showed on their countenance. We then served them with ice-creams and they applied themselves to it vigorously. Some of them talked to us for quite some time which was very touching. Then they showed us the handicrafts they made during the spare time and sell to visitors. These are made of cocount shells and were very artistic.

We then visited the ladies’ dining room and again they were a very happy lot. We were not able to meet the immobile inmates as it was their siesta time.

Many people come and donate cookies, clothes etc. Some of us donated clothes. The sister informed us that they are very possessive of their belongings. Hence all their clothes have their names stitched on it. She also informed us that this home was only for the very poor people. The children bring their parents as they are not able to take care of them due to financial constraints. However the parents think otherwise and feel sad that thinking that their children have left them.

All in all it was a happy yet moving experience.
